From the 1890s till 1937 the only way to get Flor de Cana Rum was to be a member or friend of the family. Even today you are lucky to find their offerings outside of their native Nicaragua. Domestic sales take up the lion’s share of their limited production. Flor de Cana 7 Year Old Rum is their entry level offering. Silky smooth with a flavour that sings of vanilla, toasted coconuts, figs, dark chocolate and honey it is more than worth the effort to find. The family recommends adding a touch of sparkling water but they have access to their private stock. For us regular Joes and Josephines it is a definite sipper.
