Bundaberg Rum was established in 1888 and was created as a solution for local sugar mills to utilise the waste molasses produced once sugar had been drawn from the sugarcane. It was super heavy, so transport costs were prohibitive and it was also considered too costly to convert the molasses into feed for livestock. Bundaberg Rum was an additional revenue stream and an absolute game-changer! Bundaberg Rum Original is a 37% ABV Dark Rum that’s produced using 100% sugar cane, with a unique woody aroma and light touches of butterscotch and toffee that flows across the palate with bold oak for a velvet-smooth, caramel finish.
