Poderi Luigi Einaudi Barolo Terlo Vigna Costa Grimaldi is the result of an accurate selection of grapes from the Einaudi vineyard located at Barolo, in the zone Terlo. A great wine of the Langa, garnet red with a shade of amber, of intense and embracing fragrance, full bodied but smooth tannic taste, with a long spiced final taste. Derived from the Nebbiolo grapes from the Costa Grimaldi vineyard owned by the Einaudi estate, facing Barolo. The tannic characteristics guarantee a long life in bottle. With time it acquires complexity as the ethereal aromas of spices, truffles and leather.
Medium-light brick-red with a bouquet of meaty, rusty metal and slightly sweaty aromas. It’s quite lean, not a big wine but nicely balanced and well supplied with supple, fleshy tannins. There’s not a great lot of detail at this juncture, while it has intensity and length, the drying savoury tannins appropriately balanced. 93 Points – Huon Hooke, The Real Review
‘Very enticing, almost incense-like nose, featuring ripe red berries, cranberries, roses and a blend of roasting spices. Medium-to full-bodied with a silky front-palate, then a light build of firm tannin. This shows good heart and soul.” 93 Points – James Suckling
