Sven Joschke – maker of such a lovely suite of Lo-fi wines from the Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley – has released a vintage fortified made entirely from Barossa Valley Shiraz. It hugs the Portuguese style – comparatively dry, spicy, complex – rather than the syrupy guise that so many Australian port-copies favour. It’s a belter, and should age beautifully for a decade or two.
